The limescale filter can is inserted into the top of the blue threaded ring, which is included with every purchase of an AcalaQuell Smart or Grande.
The limescale filter can is separately replaceable so that it can be replaced more frequently depending on the hardness of your water, independently of the cartridge. The can can be used for a long time and only the contents are replaced. You can find replacement granulate here.
An Acala water filter only filters limescale to a small extent, as calcium and magnesium (the main components of limescale) are actually healthy for our bodies. A certain amount of limescale also improves the taste of tea or coffee.
However, from a water hardness level of 15, it makes sense to reduce the excess limescale with an additional filter.
